The Hive hosts a Christmas Tombola

Newark Academy is pleased to announce that The Hive Christmas Tombola was extremely successful and we have raised over £80. The proceeds will go towards prizes for the Accelerated reading programme and second hand books from the salvation Army. The students really enjoyed the Tombola and it created a real buzz in The Hive.

There were a wide variety of prizes: Pandora and Tiffany bracelets, sweets, perfume sets, cuddly toys, bingo machine, books, wooly scarves and hats, Christmas decorations, gift sets, candles and many more random prizes. The tombola took place on Tuesday and Wednesday lunch time during the last week of term and the students loved it that much they asked when the school will do another one. Mrs Horner would like to thank everyone for all the donations received.

During the term, students also received raffle tickets every time they completed an accelerated reading quiz with four lucky winners are announced at the end of every term and four lucky bags given out. Mrs Horner said: "The results have been impressive the reading quizzes have over doubled. The students and myself really enjoyed this event and I am looking forward to helping the library with many more future events."
