Key Stage 3

Year 7

Intent

Students develop an understanding of what it means to be part of a community and, through an exploration of global community membership, are encouraged to ‘find their voice’, ‘make a stand’ and ‘speak up’ about worldwide issues. Students respond positively to public speaking opportunities and are supported to develop articulacy and fluency; empowered to express independent ideas through talk. In doing so, they become increasingly confident and active members of the Newark Academy community.
