Students raise money for charity

Four students from year 7 took it upon themselves to set up an event to help raise money for Children in Need on Friday 18th November. Chloe Davies, joined by Charlotte Jones, Fushia Mae Town and Holly Moody, decided to bake some cakes in their own time to sell during break and lunchtime in order to raise money for charity.

“I just wanted to help and thought it would be a nice thing to do,” said Chloe. The girls enjoy baking and presented a great selection of cupcakes, brownies and lemon cake for students and staff to buy. The bake sale was really busy, with students encouraging their friends to pay a visit after seeing what was on offer.

The girls did a fantastic job and managed to raise nearly £40 from an idea they came up with and executed themselves.

As part of Children in Need, Newark Academy held a non-uniform day with donations totalling a massive £588.86

Well done everyone!
